To enhance Ilum's utility and efficiency, we propose the addition of robust Cost Management and Resource Control features, designed to provide granular insights and proactive management capabilities for administrators and teams. Cost Monitoring Dashboard A comprehensive dashboard that delivers real-time visibility into the financial aspects of running Spark jobs, managing storage, and utilizing other resources within Ilum. This dashboard would include the ability to break down costs by user, team, or project, allowing organizations to pinpoint cost drivers and allocate budgets effectively. Additionally, the dashboard should provide historical trends and predictive insights based on current workloads, enabling teams to make informed decisions and plan resource utilization more strategically. Resource Quotas and Limits To prevent resource overuse and ensure fair distribution, administrators should be able to set resource quotas for CPU, RAM, and storage on a user, team, or workload basis. These quotas would dynamically adjust based on usage patterns, ensuring optimal allocation without manual intervention. Furthermore, real-time alerts would notify teams when resource usage approaches or exceeds defined limits, offering a proactive mechanism to address potential issues before they impact operations. By implementing these features, Ilum would empower organizations to take control of their resource utilization and cost management, ensuring a more efficient and budget-conscious approach to data processing.
